Artist: He Bingqin (China, September 1955)
Born in Wuyuan, Jiangxi Province, He Bingqin is a distinguished ceramic artist and educator. In 1977 he entered Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute as part of the first university class after the national college entrance exam was reinstated, studying under noted masters Hu Xianya, Shi Yuren, Ding Qian, Huang Meiyao, and Wu Tianbao.
After graduating in 1982, He remained at the institute to teach and now serves as Dean and Professor of the School of Ceramic Art. He is also a master’s supervisor, a leading academic in Jiangxi Province, and a recipient of the State Council’s Special Government Allowance. He holds key positions in several professional organizations, including the China Arts and Crafts Society and the Jiangxi Arts and Crafts Society, and is Vice President of the Gaoling Ceramic Art Society of Jingdezhen.
