Creative paintings on the stones, colorful collages and handmade costumes with exotic style and many other unique and beautiful artworks collected from countries along the “Belt and Road” will be exhibited from 22nd August, at “The 3rd International Children’ s Creative Art Exhibition - Explore the Colorful ‘Belt and Road’”, which will be held in Shanghai Art Collection Museum free to the public.

The 3rd International Children’s Creative Art Exhibition is hosted by Shanghai Children’s Foundation and Shanghai Education Development Foundation and jointly organized by Shanghai Art Collection Museum, Shanghai Changning District Education Foundation and Shanghai Changning District Cultural Bureau. It offers the teenagers and children a platform beyond race, language and culture for mutual communication and encourages them to participate actively in the artistic and cultural exchange events of the “Belt and Road”.

 

The theme of the exhibition is “Explore the Colorful ‘Belt and Road’”. Young artists around the world design a series of imaginative artworks reflecting the “Belt and Road” culture in their eyes, through which the audiences could feel the vitality, inheritance and change of the ancient road through thousand years.

Exquisite Artworks along the “Belt and Road”

Shanghai is the bridgehead of the “Belt and Road” construction with profound domestic and overseas influence. The exhibition attracts children’s artworks from more than ten countries including China, Egypt, Russia, Czech Republic, Iran, Ukraine, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea, Austria, Australia, France, Canada, United Kingdom, etc. More than 200 pieces were selected from hundreds of artworks to be presented.

As a collection of outstanding children's artworks of the “Belt and Road” countries, the exhibition shows their natural, historical and cultural landscapes. Young artists give new lives to the splendid scenery and unique culture of different countries through their imagination. The traditional fan pyrography “Meet” was made by students from Special Education School. The creative model “Sightseeing on the Way” is made by materials from our daily life. The painting “the Heavenly King” describes one of the classical images along the “Belt and Road” with simple lines. The printmaking “Hometown” presents the scenery of an ancient town in the hue of black and white.

There are also artworks in describing the beautiful scenery along the “Belt and Road” by young artists from China and foreign countries. The lively and imaginative paintings by Egypt children depict the pyramid covered by snow and the castle beside the golden beach, which show the love to their motherland. The painting “Ramayana” by Thai children vividly unfolds the image of the traditional figure in Thai epic, a unique image along the “Belt and Road” to the audience. The painting “Dunhuang night” is presented by young artist from Czech Republic, which shows the magnificent sights of the ancient Dunhuang in China. “The Gate of Friendship” by Russian children creatively combined the traditional Chinese and Russian patterns on the gate, which symbolizes the friendship between China and Russia. These artworks not only show artists' love to their motherland but also present the their expectation of cultural exchange along the “Belt and Road”.

Etiquette Training Activities


 

The exhibition also invites expert in education and training of etiquette to give teenagers a lecture about appropriate manners. The lecture is going to lead teenagers to having further understanding about Chinese and Western etiquette, and their cultural meanings.


 

The Silk Road has played an essential role in connecting the exchange between the East and West thousand years ago. Nowadays, the “Belt and Road” is going to bring new opportunities, which could promote the communication between the East and West. The lecture about etiquette during the exhibition would give teenagers a brand new perspective to experience the significance of communication along the road and lead teenagers to establishing ideal ambition, cultivating their mind and promoting the overall development of children and teenagers.

 

 

 

Wonderful Activities  Various Cultural Experience


 

In addition to children's art works from home and abroad, we have also prepared series of wonderful extensive activities, which include “the Charm of Poland”, “Egyptian papyrus painting”, “Turkish Ebru painting”, etc. These attractive activities highly present the distinctive cultural features of countries along the “Belt and Road”. Through the activities, audiences could absorb elements of culture into their daily lives and the traditional forms of art and culture could revive at the present time.


 

Authoritative Award  Wide impact


 

A double evaluation mechanism has been specially set up for this exhibition with the combination of experts and online evaluation, which will ensure the authority of the awards by inviting educational experts, representatives of professional organizations, artists and representatives of consulates general in Shanghai to participate in the evaluation. At the same time, the online votes on some popular websites attract a large number of people to join us, which could be fair and also fully discover the art talents with potentials. The hosting organizations who have an extensive social impact will issue the authoritative certificates. Besides, the large-scale awarding ceremony and publication of the catalog will enhance the social impact of this exhibition and promote children's art education to a higher level.


 

The exhibition is going to establish a platform for children around the globe to promote the cultural and artistic exchange and share further understanding about each other's historical and splendid civilizations.
